.March 2024.
~ a modest mouse & humble beginnings ~
This month was a big one - end of the first Quarter - goals to be achieved and routines to be mastered. That was the theme - March Mastery - dial in the habits I had been rewiring. Getting this project off the ground was included. Proud to say it happened. Everything you’ll see below was a culmination of carrying my SRT everywhere to capture memories and daily life - put the Lens is More mantra to form. On that note, all I can say is 1%… I ran through three rolls and patiently waited for their development, nerves mixed with excitement to see if I had made any progress in comparison to February. At first glance, there was only a few that jumped out at me, but collectively there does seem to be a theme. And yes, many are generic familiar 416 landmarks; CN Tower/Skydome, the CHUM-city building at John & Queen, and the bustling Queen & Spadina intersection - which unfortunately is under construction and two corners are not as pleasant to the eye as they once were.
Either way, my objective was to take any photo I found interesting and although many were throw aways, part of the journey is taking those generic stock photos. All in all I’d say I see at least 1% growth this month; and when compounded, staying consistent with practice will pay dividends down the road. For now, shooting with low light is proving to be a steep learning curve - I see a constant battle with under exposure in the near future. Looking back, the end of Q1 speaks volumes for what discipline and consistency can do when you make and invest time on yourself and interests.
